Students who want to transfer to Fachhochschule Dortmund from another university and continue to study in their current program (after moving) or who wish to resume their studies after taking a break, can apply for admission to a higher semester. This also concerns applicants who wish to enroll in a higher semester with the recognition of their previous coursework and examinations from another study program.
You have to apply online via the study place portal of Fachhochschule Dortmund.
Please note that the information regarding the application deadlines listed below, may be subject to change on short notice due to the current COVID-19-related situation.
- Summer semester: 15 February to 15 March of each year
- Winter semester: 15 August to 15 September of each year
You have to submit the following documents in addition to the application form:
- your current Transcript of Records
- or proof of the your successfully completed coursework and examinations.
In addition to applying for admission to a higher semester, you can also apply for admission to the first semester. You can only do so if you are not enrolled in a study program with the same name at a German university at the time of application.
We will transfer the credits for your coursework and examinations once you have enrolled at Fachhochschule Dortmund.
After the enrollment and the recognition of your coursework and examinations by the head of the examination board, you will be placed in the respective higher program semester upon request.
Please note that certain study programs have restricted admission and that not every applicant may receive a study place, even if they meet the admission requirements.
